Happy birthday to Care Quality Review Officer Debbie and Deputy Manager, Susan Sharp, it was both their birthdays this weeks!

Wolverhampton have successfully mobilised a new contract in the area. The branch has taken over 1000 hours and 100 service users with only a 2 week lead in! It’s been a super busy couple of weeks but due to the resilience of the branch, business systems and MST it has been a seamless and safe transfer.

Mobilisation Project Lead, Connor Simpson would like to thank everyone involved and welcome all TUPE staff to the Wolverhampton team.

John Townley, Head of Mobilisation and Resourcing has been leading People Matter Recruitment Workshops this week focusing on, See, Hear and Feel principles. This is a reminder that we are all individuals and very different!

The Boston Branch would like to give a warm welcome to Jamie Harris who has joined the branch recently as a Field Care Supervisor. Jamie is proving an asset to our team already and the branch look forward to working alongside him going forward.

What a busy weekend it was for our service users in Southend! They visited Harry Potter World and made the most of the lovely weather with a trip to the park. ☀️

Congratulations to the following who have received Employee of The Month for March!

Competence – Julie Revett from the Clacton branch! Julie was nominated after the branch had received four compliments from Service Users and their families. The service users expressed how they “love Julie and she always does her best. She is fantastic and goes above and beyond for them.” One even said that “if there were more people like Julie, the world would be a better place!” Well done Julie!!

Commitment – Veronika Beleznai. Well done to Veronika who has shown commitment to not only the Boston branch but also the Leicester and Sleaford branches by covering the on call during challenging times. Veronika has a rare quality of selflessness willing to help anyone or any branch at times of need. We are very proud to have her as part of our team. Congratulations Veronika!!

Care – Shirley Wren from the Leicester branch! Shirley was nominated for her hard work with the nominator saying: “Shirley has got to be the hardest worker, work colleague I know.

“She has been a massive supporter to me over these last few weeks. Shirley has been not only my rock she’s been there for each and everyone of us in the Leicester branch.

“Shirley doesn’t get the thanks she needs and this is the only way I know how to repay her for not giving up on all us.” Well done Shirley!!

Compassion – Sandra Thompson from the Gateshead branch! Sandra was nominated as over the last few weeks one of their service users had a massive decline in their health and required a lot more support. Sandra quickly put in place a 24 hour package with the help of a brilliant care team. During the last few days Sandra was an excellent support for the care workers and the service user’s family. Sandra has gone above and beyond in her role even phoning the care workers from home to ensure they were ok and felt supported. Sandra has shown a lot of compassion and empathy and the branch could not have asked for anymore from her. Well done Sandra!!

Communication – Nicolas Ferguson. Nicolas was praised by the QA team and Director of Quality & Care, Diane Underwood, for his excellent communication skills and bringing any changes to care plans to Diane’s attention. Well done Nicolas!

Courage – Carol Hind from the burnley branch! Carol cares for a young man with severe autism every week. Recently the service user’s step dad had been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. This is having an adverse effect on the service user and he is having difficulty in expressing his emotions and quite often they are come out as aggression towards his family. On one of the days, the service user was very angry when Carol arrived and tried to hit his step sister. The service user’s mum was very upset and told Carol she should just go. Instead Carol told the service user to put his coat on and she took him out for the day. Carol is also going above and beyond for this family during this difficult time, even giving up her annual leave to provide care for him. Well done for going above and beyond Carol!!

This week we had to say goodby to one of our most loyal and trusted employees. Curo has run its course and unfortunately has reached the age where it has had to retire. We would like to wish Curo the best of luck in the future, good luck Curo!
