Career progression at CRG

Our staff’s career progression and personal development are important to us at CRG Homecare.

We are committed to ensuring our care staff have access to training programmes so they can develop their skills and progress their careers with us.

Experienced care workers, Charlotte Donoghue and Aimee Evans started working at CRG Homecare, in the Prescot-based office, as Field Care Supervisors. They had the responsibility of carrying out spot checks, managing care staff and ensuring the care provided was of the highest possible standard.

Both impressed with their skills and knowledge and so after gaining a few months’ experience as Field Care Supervisors were promoted to Care Coordinators.

Charlotte explained: “Having the experience of being a Field Care Supervisor has helped me so much in my new role as Care Coordinator. I have a good, local knowledge of where the calls are, how long it would take care workers to travel to each care call plus I know the care workers and have built a good rapport with them.”

Reflecting on why she decided to start a career in care, Aimee explained: “One of the reasons I decided to start a career in care in the first place was because there was lots of opportunities to progress.

“Since starting my career I have progressed from Care Worker to Field Care Supervisor and now Care Coordinator. I have taken on more responsibility and I am enjoying every minute of it.

“Every day is different – you don’t know what you are going to have to deal with. The Prescot homecare team is very supportive of each other and it’s a fun place to work.

“If you’re thinking about a career in a care I would definitely say go for it. There’s so much room to progress – you don’t know where it is going to lead to.”

Heidi Waring, Operations Manager for the North, added: “It is important that we help our employees develop their skills and so we offer QCFs and provide full training and refresher training throughout the year.

“Many of our employees climb the career ladder with us, some have even progressed to management level.”
